Many first time customers ask me what kind of phone system is the best. Is it VOIP (voice over Internet protocol), or is it the standard analog line phone system. Depending on the range of needs and the company budget that can be a hard decision. In this case I want to talk about the Nortel BCM50 which offers both options in a compact shell.
The Nortel BCM50 is one of Nortels more recent communications systems. Its compact frame makes it ideal for small phone closets or server rooms that are limited in space. Being about the size of a package of printer paper it can be used as a VOIP switch or a standard phone system. It has a built in voicemail system as well as an auto attendant and can also support Unified Messaging. All of these functions are built in and are activated through purchased keycodes.
The Nortel BCM50 can physically support up to 4 incoming analog lines, 4 analog phones and 12 digital telephones without adding an expansion module. It can also be expanded to 32 phones using a VOIP option, or additional modules can be added to expand incoming lines and phones. All with the availability of voicemail. The Nortel BCM50 can also be used with a T1 Circuit as another option if the user would so choose.
The Nortel BCM50 is in my opinion a win/win when it comes to having a modern yet flexible phone system. It is programmed via a laptop or computer interface through the existing company network or directly. The Nortel BCM50 also allows a company to start with the standard old POT (Plane Old Telephone) lines and to grow into a more sophisticated communication platform without the cost of switching out the system. So, in my opinion the answer I give to potential customers that want to start with a more traditional setup and move up to a more advanced solution at a later date is the Nortel BCM50. It is very hard to go wrong with this setup if this is the type of system you are looking for.

Nortel Norstar Flash Voicemail Vs. Nortel Norstar Call Pilot Voicemail
So, you need to add voicemail to your Nortel Norstar phone system. The question is which voicemail do you choose? Well, you have two choices. The first is the Nortel Norstar Startalk Flash Voicemail and the second is the Nortel Norstar Call Pilot Voicemail system. Not sure what either of them do? I'm going to tell you!
The Nortel Norstar Startalk Flash Voicemail is the older of the two voicemail systems, but that doesn't mean the newer is necessarily better depending on your needs. The Flash voicemail comes in two flavors a 2 port and a 4 port.
The Startalk Flash 2 offers the following:
In case you don't know, a port is a dedicated channel to the voicemail from the phone system. This means that 1 person can be connected to a port at a time. So, 2 ports equals 2 people at a time.
The Startalk Flash 4 offers the following:

Good price verses quality? Why not both!
I was talking to a potential customer the other day who had many questions about what was the best type of refurbished phone system for them. Being the savvy internet shopper they listed several product lines such as Nortel, Norstar, Lucent, Partner, Avaya and several others wondering which one was best for them. As always the number one concern is price followed by features as a close second.
When it comes to the price of phone systems, the old adage of "you get what you pay for" really is true. Not all phone systems are created equal. Nortel has been the front runner in quality phone systems for decades! Their quality of product is well proven and their feature rich package is very impressive. Not all manufacturers (names excluded) can say that. So when you combine that with a great refurbished price you are looking at a telephone system that cannot be beat!
So when the time comes for you to start shopping for a phone system, please take a look at our store http://www.thedynamicresource.com/. Or you can find our company's contact information at the top right of this page.

Why buy Refurbished Telecom and Datacom Equipment?
You may never have considered buying used electronic equipment for your business before. Now would be the time to start considering that option. In the current recession, everyone is looking for one thing; a Great Value---Quality services and goods at a low price. Its time to consider purchasing used infrastructure to acquire the components you need at a low cost.
Imagine having the latest NORTEL technology equipment at half the price of new equipment. Now that’s a GREAT VALUE!
You may think that used equipment would suffer in quality compared to new. However companies, like Dynamic CommSource Inc take these used goods and restore them to like new condition, while providing a warranty, at, most of the time, less than half of the cost of new equipment. You are still gaining the functionality, the look, the feel and the reliability of the new product but at a substantially lower dollar amount.
With an influx of companies shutting their doors, there is more used equipment out on the market than ever before. This means that competition is high allowing you, the consumer, to acquire assets at never before seen savings. Be it, used computers and LCD monitors, to routers and networking gear to phone systems, cutting edge technology and innovation can be yours, while not breaking the bank, and having to sacrifice elsewhere.
Furthermore, you could even trade recover valuable dollars from your old equipment by selling it to the used marketplace for example at www.usedphonebuyer.com .
If cost isn’t reason enough to purchase a refurbished solution, then think about this. You are also providing a new life for an otherwise unwanted product. Thus recycling the goods and saving them from ending up in another landfill. This is a no-lose situation for all of the parties involved.
